As we continue to grow we continue to gain feedback from students that helps us adjust and bring you the best financial education available. When we first started the company we relied on this to build our educational courses so you the student could learn the most efficient way and most importantly, the right way.
This quarter we are happy to announce the Landshark LMT Courses, (Live Market Training.) We once beta tested this idea in 2016 to see the viability and feed back from students. The main question we were after was: Did learning in the live market with an instructor bring value? The answer we found was an overwhelming yes. In fact, we brought this back in a sense this year with one of our instructors, Ryan Sizemore, who led a live trading room daily. In the room he coached & traded across futures, stocks and options, many of you had the pleasure of watching him. On occasion we brought in other instructors as well to give insights and to see their views on the trades they were analyzing. One of them was Joel Greenberg, an options trader who prefers to sell premium and focus on 'income options' which fits those of you are less aggressive.
How is this different from a live trading room?
When I developed this company it was more out of helping retail traders to succeed and to get away from the brokers and folks constantly selling people things they didn't need (indicators, a course after another course, secret 'hedge fund insider strategies'). One of those products was a live trading room, which is where this company did start, small with about fifteen traders who found me on a forum. So to answer the question, it's not a live trading room, it's continued education where you expand on what you learn in your respective courses. A live trading room tends to be over-crowded and filled with people simply looking for a trade idea.
Second, what you will find (if you are new to trading and investing) is that most of this does not require you to sit at the computer screens 8 hours a day 5 days a week. So the idea of having a daily live trading room creates two items that I took issue with:
A) It creates this idea that you always have to trade, which in turn creates bad habits and over-trading.
B) It creates an environment where traders never learn to do this for themselves, only looking for a trade to piggy-back on. This is not what we wanted to create, we want to teach you how to fish for yourself so you can do this for an extended time.
So while there will be live trades from the instructors, it is much more with planned lessons and topics being discussed throughout the 12-week schedule.
So it is my hope that after testing this idea for the last 18 months that we've come to the best possible solution where we believe it will create value, continuing education and an environment for those students who want to take this to a new level. You'll be able to learn little tid-bits that are hard to cover in your main classes and even better you can begin to learn and apply the strategies you learn while in the live market with an instructor there to hold your hand through the entire process.
The LMT - What are the exactly?
The LMT's are 90-day programs where you will attend a twice-a-week live market class. Each session is 2-hours and is recorded for you to watch later. (We debated on this part, as we believe the best way is to do it live but we understand schedules at times can get in the way). There are a total of 24 class sessions (36 for futures) that you'll be able to attend. Each session is entirely different. Some days will involve coaching on certain topics that expand on your prior class. Some sessions will include live analyzing of the current market and then execution of trades as they present themselves creating a dynamic educational experience. The best way I can describe this is almost like a graduate program, for those who want more and to really dive into becoming a master of their craft.
As a student you'll have the ability to choose between three separate LMT's:
1. Core Foundations of Trading
2. Advanced Options
3. E-Mini Futures Trading
The E-Mini Futures Trading LMT is more active due to the nature of futures so this LMT meets for 3-live sessions a week totaling, 36 total class sessions. As of current we plan to begin the LMT the first week of October. There is a tuition cost and this is only available to students who have taken or plan on taking one of the three courses mentioned above.
To learn more about the program and to receive the 12-week syllabus for the respective LMT please contact your instructor or click here.
We're looking forward to the first students in this program and thank all of you for your feedback over the last year as we put this together.
